Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm and lighting are very likely to occur in several districts of Odisha during next 48 hours, the regional centre of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast.
In its midday weather bulletin, the Met office said thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places in Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sonepur districts till Saturday morning.
It has made similar forecast for one or two places in Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Cuttack districts from Saturday morning to Sunday morning.
The IMD has issued yellow warning for the above districts for next two days.
Following the IMD warning, the office of the Special Relief Commissioner has alerted the district collectors and SPs to closely monitor the situation and take necessary steps to make people aware of the forecast.
