Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain in several districts of Odisha from September 18 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation, which is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal around that period.
According to the midday bulletin issued on Thursday, heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Nuapada, Balangir Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Puri and Jagatsinghpur on September 18. During the subsequent 24 hours, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur may experience heavy rain.
There will be little change in the weather conditions during the next two days.
However, the next two days will be hot and humid in the state with light to moderate rain in some places. Yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning has been sounded for Sundargarh, Keonjhar Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh on September 15; Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda and Puri on September 16 and Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Balangir and Boudh on September 17.
