Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for three districts of Odisha till 7 pm on Sunday.
Moderate thunderstorm/lightning along with wind speed reaching 40 kmph may lash a few places in Cuttack, Kendrapada and Khurda in the next 3 hours.
While the weather agency has warned of thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj on Monday (July 28), heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may resume at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh districts on Tuesday (July 29).
There is also a warning for thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Dhenkanal on the same day.
Squally weather with wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph may also prevail over North Bay of Bengal, along & off Odisha coasts during July 27-28, it further stated.
While there is no further warning, light to moderate rain may continue at some places across the state during the subsequent seven days.
