Bhubaneswar: With a low-pressure area set to form over the Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued heavy rainfall and thunderstorm warning for several districts in Odisha.
IMD has issued orange warning predicting “heavy to very heavy rainfall” at one or two places over 10 districts — Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh and Angul.
People in these districts have been advised to stay indoors and take shelter in buildings during lightning as a precautionary measure.
Moreover, a fresh low-pressure area is likely over west-central adjoining north Bay of Bengal around August 9.
