Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings for 12 districts of Odisha till 12.30 pm on Friday.
Moderate thunderstorm/lightning with moderate rain along with wind speed reaching 40 kmph may affect some parts of Sundargarh, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda in 2 hours.
Light to moderate rain with light thunderstorm/lightning and wind speed reaching 40 kmph may also occur at a few places in Angul, Sonepur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Balasore and Keonjhar.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
