Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a five-day yellow warning for nor’wester (rain and thundershower with strong wind) in some districts of south and north Odisha.
The national weather agency, in a mid-day bulletin, said under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Bihar and adjoining Jharkhand, there will be thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at one or two places. The nor’wester condition in the state will prevail till April 15, it added.
In view of the nor’wester, IMD has issued yellow warning for the following districts.
April 11
Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Nuapada, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jajpur and Deogarh.
April 12
Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nuapada, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.
April 13
Malkangiri, Rayagada, Koraput, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
April 14
Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Nabarangpur.
April 15
Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Balasore and Bhadrak.
