Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm alert for five places in Odisha from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday.
The latest Met bulletin said moderate thunderstorm, lightning with light rainfall and gusty wind speeds reaching 30-40kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in Talcher, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Parts of Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Khurda, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Puri and Rayagada will experience moderate thunderstorm and lightning between 5 pm and 8 pm.
Light to moderate rainfall and gusty wind at 40 kmph are also likely in these areas.
