Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorms along with gusty wind will lash 16 districts in Odisha, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, on Thursday.
According to a yellow warning issued by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, there will be light to moderate thunderstorms with gusty wind speed reaching 30- 40 kmph with lightning and moderate rain in some parts of Angul, Jajpur, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Nayagarh, Dhenkanal, Malkangiri, Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Balasore, Rayagada, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar) and Kendrapada from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm.
The Centre further said there will be moderate to severe thunderstorms with lightening, gusty surface wind speed 30-40 kmph and intense rain for another one hour over Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strikes, the release added.
