Bhubaneswar: Thundershower together with lightning is likely to lash at least 20 districts of Odisha on Thursday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning. State capital Bhubaneswar and Cuttack city are also likely to be affected.
In a message issued at 6.30 pm, the IMD sounded a yellow warning for Puri, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Boudh, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Deogarh and Sonepur districts.
Thundershower and lightning may occur at some places in these districts within next three hours, it said, advising people to keep a watch on the weather conditions and be ready to move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
