Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued nowcast warning for seven Odisha districts, including state capital Bhubaneswar and millennium city of Cuttack, up to 5.30 pm on Friday.
Issuing yellow alert, it said light to moderate rain and thundershower with lightning is likely to affect some parts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Cuttack and Balasore districts within next three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
The meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has also issued another nowcast warning for light to moderate rain and thundershower with lightning in parts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jajpur and Bhadrak districts by 5 pm today.
