Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued intense heatwave warning in the interior districts of Odisha.
Talking to mediapersons here, Director, Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas said that though the overall weather condition in the state will remain dry in next five days, there will be acute humid conditions in the coastal districts due to the presence of moisture in the atmosphere.
The heatwave condition will intensity further in the next 48 hours in interior districts of Balangir, Sonepur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sundargarh and Boudh where the mercury will shoot up to 40 degree Celsius and above.
The heatwave condition in the aforesaid districts will continue for three days, Biswas added.
