Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a sharp rise in the day temperature in Odisha in the next 48 hours.
In a mid-day bulletin, the IMD said that the wind discontinuity from south Tamil Nadu to west Vidarbha now runs from south Tamil Nadu to north Madhya Maharashtra across south interior Karnataka. Since this will have no influence on Odisha, the weather condition in the state will remain overall dry in the next 24 hours from March 26 with a sharp rise in the day temperature by 2-4 degree Celsius during the next 2-3 days.
The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, in an evening release, said that Balangir was the hottest place with 37 degree Celsius followed by Tiglagarh (36.5) and Nayagarh (36).
Besides, the temperature remained at 34 degrees and above in most places in the remaining areas of the state.
