Bhubaneswar: Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) was conferred with gold and silver awards at the Odisha State Safety Conclave (OSSC) – 2019’organised by Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS), Bhubaneswar, in association with Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad, and Odisha State Productivity Council here on Friday.
‘Kalinga Safety Awards’ was given away for various categories for best practices and competitive excellence in the field of health, safety and environment (HSE) for CY2018.
Sayang Bhuba Das, Senior Manager – Mechanical, Therubali; Lalatendu Mahapatra, GM (Mines) and Binoy Agarwalla, GM (PP Operations) Choudwar received the awards on behalf of IMFA for different categories from Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Special Relief Commissioner & MD, OSDMA, PK Jena in the presence of Labour Commissioner Niranjan Sahu and other dignitaries.
Speaking on ‘Safety & digitalization of mines’, SVP, Head-Minining (BU), IMFA, Sanjeev Das said, ”Our current strategy is to improve productivity by sweating existing assets, putting machine availability is the contract, demanding early replacement, but this can only go thus far and with Integration of geological data and optimization of drilling and blasting has held deeper understanding of resource base.”
