Hyderabad: There is a serious and immediate threat to jailed former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu’s life, claimed his son and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh on Friday.
“There is an undeniable and immediate threat to CBN’s (Chandrababu Naidu) life. He is being deliberately harmed. His safety is unquestionably at risk,” Lokesh wrote on social media platform X.
Lokesh alleged that Naidu — who was arrested in September for allegedly misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation — has lost weight and is suffering from infections and allergies due to a lack of timely medical assistance in Rajamahendravaram Central Prison.
“CBN (Naidu) is facing a dire situation, dealing with mosquitoes, contaminated water, weight loss, infections, and allergies, all without access to timely medical assistance. The GoAP (Government of Andhra Pradesh) is trying to administer steroids to him,” Lokesh wrote on X.
“What is it that the government doctors and administration are trying to hide?”
Lokesh tagged current CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and further wrote, “If any harm befalls Naidu, Jagan will be responsible.”
Chandrababu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneswari echoed Lokesh’s concerns.
“He has already lost 5kg weight, and any further weight loss could have severe consequences for his kidneys. The overhead water tanks are unsanitary and pose a serious health risk. These dire circumstances create a clear and immediate threat to my husband’s life,” she posted on X.
Chandrababu’s daughter-in-law Brahmani Nara alleged that he was detained in inadequate and unsanitary prison conditions, which posed a considerable health risk.
