Kalahandi: M Rampur police have arrested two persons, who allegedly conducted a raid on a school in Karlamunda block of Kalahandi district impersonating as Vigilance sleuths.
They have been identified as Sudhakar Tiwari (45) of Seragada village under Narla block and Satish Chandra Jal (43) of Saintala in Balangir district.
According to sources, the duo visited the Nodal Primary School on Saturday afternoon and asked for Ritana Naga, a teacher posted in the school. They then tried to strangulate him.
When teachers and students tried to intervene, Tiwari and Jal identified themselves as Vigilance officials from Sambalpur and showed their identity cards.
Suspecting foul play, villagers later caught hold of the duo and handed them over to police.
While they are currently being interrogated by police, Naga said that he had never met them before, the sources added.
