Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of students from the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital and SUM Nursing College, faculties of Medical Science and Nursing of the SOA Deemed to be University took out a rally on Monday to spread awareness about the deadly Coronavirus (Covid-19), which has gripped the world.
Carrying placards, which read ‘Stop Corona’, the students urged the people not to panic but maintain a disciplined lifestyle and adopt precaution against spread of the disease.
“We can avoid the infection by adopting a simple precaution like hand washing,” Prof. Pusparaj Samantasinhar, Medical Superintendent of IMS and SUM Hospital, said.
Besides, a person should cover his mouth and nose with a handkerchief while coughing or sneezing, he said adding it was also necessary to avoid crowded places.
Eminent neurosurgeon, Prof. Ashok Kumar Mohapatra, Director (Health Programmes) of SOA, Prof. Gangadhar Sahu, Dean, IMS and SUM Hospital, Prof. Samantasinhar and other officials were part of the rally.
