Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP), on the outskirts of the Odisha capital, will soon welcome eight more animals, including two male Chinkaras.
These animals, which also include two panthers, two grey wolves, two Gharials, will be brought from Naharagarh Biological Park in Jaipur, Rajasthan, under the animal exchange programme.
Chinkaras will be new for the Odisha zoo.
In exchange, Nandankanan will send 47 of its inmates, including a male white tiger, a female tiger, one Barha, 15 pairs of Zebra, finch birds, seven pairs of Java sparrows.
A five-member team has been formed for the exchange process.
According to sources, a team from Nahargarh will arrive in Bhubaneswar on March 15. They will begin their journey with these animals to Rajasthan on March 17.
NZP team will travel to get the animals in exchange later, the sources added.
