New Delhi: Yazdani International Pvt Ltd has become the first company from Odisha to bag a coal block outside the state.
The day 1 of the e-auction of five blocks on Monday saw Yazdani Group win Marki Mangli II in Maharashtra at a premium of 30.75 per cent.
Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation Ltd and Refex Industries Ltd were also in the race for the 11.54 million tonnes of geological reserves spread over 3.4 square kilometres.
On the other hand, Vedanta Ltd emerged the highest bidder for Radhikapur West coal mine in Odisha’s Angul district with 312 million tonnes of geological reserves, offering a premium of 21 per cent.
The other bidders for this coal block included EMIL Mines and Minerals Resources Ltd and Jindal Steel and Power.
The Coal Ministry will be auctioning 19 coal mines till November 9.
