Bhubaneswar: In yet another incident of pickpocketing in Mo Bus, a man lost Rs 60,000 meant for his son’s treatment while travelling in Bhubaneswar.
Sources said the Mo Bus passenger, identified as Brundaban Sahu of Hinjili in Ganjam district, was carrying Rs 60,000 for his son’s treatment at a hospital in the capital city when the incident took place recently.
The victim had arranged the money from his village for the treatment of his son, who is admitted in AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. After getting the money from village, he visited a relative’s place in Nayapalli area before proceeding to the hospital in a Mo Bus plying on Route No. 19.
When the bus was passing through Khandagiri area it became very crowded and the man found the money missing from his pocket after he got down at AIIMS bus stop.
Brundaban then lodged a complaint at Khandagiri police station and investigation into the incident is underway.
Mo Bus was recently in news for a series of theft from passengers. The Commissionerate Police had also arrested five members of a pickpocket gang operating in Mo Buses and targeting passengers.
