Bhubaneswar: The CBI has arrested an Income-Tax (I-T) official in Odisha’s Khurda on charges of accepting bribe from a jeweller.
The I-T official, Sumanta Sekhar Sahoo, allegedly sought Rs 40 lakh as bribe from Debendra Sahu, owner of Shanti Jewellers located in Marwadi Patti, according to reports.
Sahoo was arrested on Saturday while allegedly accepting Rs 5 lakh from the jeweller. Earlier, he had allegedly collected part of the bribe money from the jeweller.
