Majhi and Das
Cuttack: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday apprehended Reshma Majhi, Assistant Revenue Inspector and In-charge Revenue Inspector of Belgaon RI Circle in Odisha’s Balangir, while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
According to a Vigilance release, she was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe money from the complaint through Babulal Nanda aka Mantu to forward an enquiry report in a mutation case in favour of complainant’s relative to tehsil office, Saintala, for issuance of ROR (Land Patta).
Both Majhi and Nanda have been detained. Searches are also being conducted at two locations linked to Majhi to ascertain whether she had accumulated assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.
A case has also been registered against her under Section 7/12 of Prevention of Corruption (amendment) Act, 1988.
