Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actress Varsha Priyadarshini has filed a written complaint at Purighat police station in Cuttack, accusing her in-laws of conspiring to throw her out of the house.
The actress further alleged that she had recently received an anonymous letter, asking her to vacate the house immediately.
“I have fallen sick because of the continuous mental harassment, There is a threat to my life and even my family members are being harassed,” she stated in her complaint filed on November 5.
Notably, Varsha’s mother-in-law Madhusmita Mohanty on November 3 had lodged a complaint against her, alleging that she was creating disturbances in the household without any reason.
In her complaint, she said that their Nandi Sahi residence is in a dilapidated condition and needs immediate repair.
“The septic tank of the house also needs repairs for which all members are required to vacate or relocate to another place for at least 10 days. However, Varsha is unwilling to shift,” she alleged.
Varsha and her actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty are tangled in a legal battle. The couple locked horns in September this when Varsha filed a case of domestic violence against Anubhav in the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate’s (SDJM) court, accusing him of being a habitual drinker and having multiple affairs.
Following which, it was revealed that Anubhav had already filed for a divorce from his wife in the Patiala House Court in New Delhi in July this year.
The actress’ counsel Rama Krushna Rath had then maintained that his client will stay at her in-laws’ house for the sake of her safety.
When Anubhav questioned her decision to continue staying in his house amid the harassment allegations, Rath had said Varsha wanted her wayward husband to mend his ways and give their marriage a second chance, besides ensuring her own safety in accordance with the law.
