Bhadrak: It’s a love story gone wrong.
After a courtship that lasted seven years, Sameer Saanta, a youth from Jeypore in Koraput district, finally married the girl he was in love with at a temple.
Now, he is in hospital after being beaten up by the girl’s brother and cousin brother in Bhadrak district.
According to sources, after their temple marriage, the girl, from Gajendrapur village in Bhadrak district, was living in her house in Bhadrak, whereas Sameer was staying at his house in Jeypore.
Three months ago, they had an argument over phone. The girl called Sameer to Bhadrak bus stand recently. When he arrived there, police said that her brother and cousin brother, who were present there, took him to their village in an auto-rickshaw and beat him up severely.
Villagers admitted Sameer to the district headquarters hospital in Bhadrak. The villagers also informed his family members. “I brought him to the hospital. He was vomiting continuously and lost consciousness,” a villager said.
Police have begun a probe after Sameer lodged a complaint.
