Bhubaneswar: NDA’s Presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu on Friday received a rousing welcome after touching down at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Odisha’s capital.
Droupadi, a tribal BJP leader from Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district and former Jharkhand Governor, received a ceremonial reception at the airport with BJP legislator Kusum Tete performing a tribal dance and party’s Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi playing the cymbal.
State BJP president Samir Mohanty, BJD vice-president Debi Prasad Mishra and many senior leaders were present at the airport to welcome her.
Tribal women dressed in their traditional attire performed folk dances on the streets leading to the airport.
