Hyderabad: Officials of Income Tax (IT) Department reportedly carried out raids at filmmaker Sukumar’s house and office here on Wednesday.
Sakshi Post reported that the raids began in the morning and continued for several hours. The ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ director was apparently at the Hyderabad airport when he was escorted by IT officials to his residence after which searches were conducted.
Details about the purpose of the raids are yet to be disclosed. There has been no word from the IT department or from the director’s side.
A day earlier, IT raids were conducted on the properties of prominent Telugu producer and distributor Dil Raju. IT officials are reportedly suspecting tax evasion, financial discrepancies and unaccounted income.
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, has turned out to be a huge box-office hit, having earned more than Rs 1500 crore since its release in theatres on December 5, 2024.
