Boudh: Life was thrown out of gear in Boudh district on Monday following an indefinite bandh call given by the district BJP Yuva Morcha, demanding fulfilment of the four-point charter of demands.
All trading and business establishments, educational institutions and government offices remained closed while vehicular traffic came to a grinding halt in the district owing to the bandh.
The BJP Morcha activists picketed on the roads in different areas of the district. Apprehending law and order situation, police have picked two Morcha activists, including the district Yuva Morcha president.
The Morcha has demanded district-based recruitment of staff nurses, no closure of paddy procurement centres (mandi), commencement of work Khurda-Balangir railway project in Boudh district and probe into the corruption in the appointment of revenue inspectors and amins and action against the erring government officials.
