Barbil: The Barbil unit of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) observed the 72nd Independence Day with great pomp and show. While 113 workers of the pellet plant were awarded for their dedication on the occasion, 25 people from the peripheral villages of the plant were felicitated for their contribution towards society.
Executive vice president and Unit Head, Suresha G graced the event and hoisted the tricolor in the plant premises. JSPL Chairman, Naveen Jindal’s Independence Day message was read out in which he lauded the efforts of the employees of Barbil unit for their remarkable contribution in meeting business expectations.
Suresha said, “We aspire for an India that is strong and self-reliant, a nation that maintains a steady pace of progress and an India that keeps scaling new heights. When everyone’s dreams and efforts move in the right direction to attain the desired goals, then nothing is unattainable.”
Addressing students of Jindal School at Soyabali, he advised them to dedicate themselves in nation-building exercise. He noted, “Today we require youngsters with a lot of knowledge and energy to come forward and lead from the front”.
At the end of the event, 113 workers and employees of several departments of the plant were felicitated for their sincerity and hard work. Besides, as many as 25 people from the peripheral villages including elders, village chiefs and retired teachers were felicitated for their invaluable contribution in building the society.
Among others, EVP and Head (F&A) S K Agrawal, vice president (Purchase, Mechanical Maintenance & Projects) V C S Rao and, vice president (HR & ES), B B Pradhan were present on the occasion.
