New Delhi: Nearly 4.5 million (44,49,552) beneficiaries have received COVID-19 vaccines in just 19 days since the countrywide vaccination drive was launched on January 16.
These include 2,11,346 beneficiaries in Odisha.
According to the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, India has been the fastest country to clock 4 million COVID-19 vaccinations in just 18 days.
Many other countries that have achieved this milestone, however, have had a head start of almost 65 days.
As per the ministry’s data, USA took 20 days to achieve 4 million vaccinations. Israel and UK both took 39 days.
The ministry further said the number of beneficiaries being vaccinated every day has also shown a progressive increase.
In the last 24 hours, 3,10,604 people were vaccinated across 8,041 sessions. So far, 84,617 sessions have been conducted.
