New Delhi: The total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the country rose to 415, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reported on Monday.
Seven people have died so far and 24 have recovered.
Also on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi voiced concern that “many people are still not taking the lockdown seriously”. In a tweet, the PM urged people to “save yourself, save your family, follow the instructions seriously”.
Earlier, the had asked the nation to observe a ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday. He had also asked citizens to clap, ring bells or beat plates for health workers at 5 pm on that day.
However, many videos of people taking out rallies and dancing on the streets have emerged, thus breaking the social distancing purpose.
The Centre has asked the states to strictly enforce the lockdown and take legal action against violators.
