Bhubaneswar: The Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has advised bank staff and customers to take adequate precautions while touching or counting currency notes in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
“Wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds before and after physical banking/currency counting/AEPS (Aadhaar-enabled payment system) transactions,” IBA said in a release.
As part of its campaign “Corona Se Daro Na, Digital Karo Na”, the Association has been encouraging customers to use online and mobile banking and avoid visiting bank branches as it could pose a risk of infection to the front desk staff.
