India Inches Towards 10,000-Mark In COVID-19 Death Toll

New Delhi: The COVID-19 death toll in India is inching towards 10,000-mark. A total of 9,900 people have succumbed to the virus so far with 380 more deaths being reported in the last 24 hours.


The country witnessed a spike of 10,667 COVID-19 cases, thereby taking the affected tally to 3,43,091, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data revealed on Tuesday.

It is for the fifth consecutive day that India saw a rise of over 10,000 positive cases.

Maharashtra continued to be the worst-hit state in the country with the total cases crossing the one-lakh mark (1,10,744), including 4,128 deaths, followed by Tamil Nadu (46,504) and Delhi (42,8290. States with more than 10,000 cases include Gujarat (24,055), Uttar Pradesh (13,615), Rajasthan (12,981), Madhya Pradesh (10,935) and West Bengal (11,494).
