New Delhi: India reported another 3.5 lakh fresh COVID cases on Friday, and saw a nine per cent rise from Thursday’s 3.17 lakh cases. Thursday witnessed the highest figure in eight months.
India is the second worst-hit country after the US with a tally of 3.85 crore cases.
A total of 5.23 per cent of the total infections are active cases now. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 93.50 per cent. The daily positivity rate saw an upward rise from 16.41 per cent to 17.94 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was 16.56 per cent.
The Omicron tally reached 9,692 on Friday with 29 states reporting fresh cases of the new strain.
