Kyiv: Addressing reporters on Thursday during his ongoing visit to Kyiv, Union external affairs minister, S Jaishankar, stated that India was ready to help end the Ukraine war. The minister said that if needed, India stands ready to mediate.
“If India can be of any help, in any manner, we are there,” Jaishankar said alongside Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Reuters reported.
The minister said that he has discussed attacks on commercial shipping in the Black Sea with his counterpart in Ukraine.
During the ongoing visit, he will hold bilateral consultations with his Ukrainian counterpart and Polish Deputy Prime Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
“The visit will focus on enhancing bilateral relations and also provide an opportunity to exchange views on regional developments and issues of mutual interest,” said an official statement.
Recently, Indian seafarers were killed and injured in the latest escalations between Russia and Ukraine in the Black Sea.
In Warsaw, he is expected to hold bilateral consultations with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski. The visit will also focus on regional developments and issues of mutual interest.
