New Delhi: The country logged less than 2 lakh daily COVID count for the third straight day on Sunday with 1,65,553 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.
This was also the lowest number of daily cases reported in the last 46 days in the country.
India also reported 3,460 deaths in the last 24 hours. This is the lowest daily toll in over three weeks.
In more heartening news, the daily positivity rate declined to 8.02%, remaining below the 10%-mark for five consecutive days, while the weekly positivity rate dropped to 9.36%, the ministry said.
At present, India’s infection tally is 27,894,800 and cumulative toll is 325,972.
