India Records Over 3.86 Lakh COVID-19 Cases In A Day With 3,498 Deaths

New Delhi: A total of over 3.86 lakh people were infected by the COVID-19 virus in the country in the last 24 hours on Thursday. The country has reported 3,498 fatalities in a single day.

The toll has surged to 2,08,330 after the huge single-day spike. This is the ninth consecutive day that India has reported more than three lakh new cases. Now, India’s COVID-19 tally of more than 1.87 crore cases is the second-highest globally, behind the United States and just ahead of Brazil.

Among the Indian states, Maharashtra reported 66,159 fresh cases and 771 casualties in a day.

Maharashtra was followed by Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi in terms of number of infections.
