India Reports 2.38 Lakh New COVID Cases; Positivity Rate Drops To 14.43%

New Delhi: India’s daily COVID cases dropped below 2.5 lakh as it recorded 2.38 lakh new cases in the past 24 hours on Tuesday. The cases came down by seven per cent compared to Monday.

The positivity rate also dropped to 14.43 per cent from 19.65 per cent in a day.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s bulletin this morning, India’s caseload now stands at 3.75 crore.

This includes 8,891 Omicron cases. The active cases now comprise 4.62 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 94.09 per cent.

As many as 310 people have died due to the infection during the past 24 hours. It took the country’s toll to 486,761.

Meanwhile, the cumulative vaccination coverage across India surpassed 158 crore doses till Monday.
