India Reports 5,476 New COVID-19 Cases, 158 Deaths

New Delhi: With the situation improving gradually, India recorded another 5,476 fresh COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours on Sunday.

With this, India’s COVID-19 tally soared to 4,29,62,953, while the active cases dropped to 59,442, the Union Health Ministry’s updated data stated on Sunday.

The toll surged to 5,15,036 with 158 new fatalities, according to data updated at 8 am. The daily COVID-19 cases have now remained below one lakh for 28 consecutive days.

The active cases are 0.14 per cent of the total infections, while the country’s COVID-19 recovery rate has further improved to 98.65 per cent, said the ministry.
