Bhubaneswar: India saw a 27 per cent jump in daily COVID caseload as 2,47,417 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, ending at 9 am on Thursday.
While the daily positivity rate stands at 13.11%, India now has 11,17,531 active cases.
Active cases are for 3.08 per cent of all infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 95.59 per cent.
Similarly, confirmed cases of Omicron in the country is 5,488 with Maharashtra (1,367) and Rajasthan (792) contributing the highest number of cases of the new variant.
According to the Health Ministry, 154.61 crore doses have been provided in the country as part of the countrywide immunisation push.
