India Sees 5.01% Rise In Omicron Cases As 2.68 Lakh More Test Positive For COVID, TPR 16.66%;

New Delhi: India reported 2,68,833 fresh COVID cases in the last 24 hours, ending at 9 am on Saturday, which is 4,631 more than the previous day.

It includes 6,041 cases of Omicron, an increase of 5.01 per cent since Friday. While the test positivity rate stood at 16.66 per cent against 14.7 per cent the previous day, active cases comprised 3.85 per cent of the total infections with 1,45,747 cases added to the caseload in a span of 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry data updated this morning, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has decreased to 94.83 per cent with 1,22,684 getting cured of the infection in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Odisha reported 10,856 fresh infections on Saturday and a TPR of 14.48% with 74936 samples being tested in the last 24 hours. Khurda reported the highest of 3087 cases followed by Sundargarh (1943) and Cuttack (909). The hospitalisation rate in the state is 8 per cent.
