Basseterre (St Kitts): The second T20 International between India and the West Indies here at the Warner Park has been delayed by three hours.
The match, which was scheduled to begin at 8 pm IST (10.30 am local time), will now get underway at 11 pm IST.
And the reason has nothing to do with cricket.
It was caused by a delay in the arrival of players’ luggage and kits.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) stated that due to circumstances beyond its control, there have been significant delays in crucial team luggage arriving in St Kitts from Trinidad — where the first match of the series was played — leading to delay in the start of the game.
“CWI regrets any inconvenience caused to our valued fans, sponsors, broadcast partners and all other stakeholders,” the Caribbean cricket board said.
India lead 1-0 in the five-match series, having thrashed the home team by 68 runs two days ago.
