Indian American Woman, Former Google Executive Sheetal Wrzesien Shot Dead By Husband In Georgia



Washington: Indian American former Google executive Sheetal Wrzesien was killed after being shot by her husband in Cobb County, Georgia, US, according to a local media report. Their son Jason was also hurt in the shooting at the couple’s home on Laurel Creek Trail, PTI reported.

Police


arrested the accused, 56-year-old Kirk B. Wrzesien, on Tuesday night at the family’s residence in Cobb County, near Atlanta.

Joanne Anderson, a neighbour who has lived on the street for more than two decades and raised her daughter there, said the sudden disturbance caught her off guard, Atlanta News First reported.

“I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t know if someone had a heart attack or what had happened,” Anderson said.

The Cobb County Police Department said officers were dispatched to the Smyrna home shortly before 8 pm after receiving reports of gunfire.

When police entered the house, they found 57-year-old Sheetal Wrzesien with multiple gunshot wounds. She was later pronounced dead.

Kirk faces charges of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He remains held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Centre.
