New Delhi: The Indian Army, on Friday, shared the first visuals of an airstrike on a Pakistani military post across the Line of Control (LoC). It is not clear whether the Pakistani bunker was struck by an air-to-surface missile or a surface-to-surface one. Sources have, however, confirmed that this was one of the posts targeting Indian civilian locations across the Line of Control (LoC) over the last several days.
At least 15 Indian civilians have been killed and over 60 injured in artillery and mortar fire from Pakistani positions across the LOC. India has maintained that it did not target civilian locations during Op Sindoor on Wednesday.
“Our targets for Op Sindoor were selected very carefully, based on intelligence gathered from the areas. All of them were terrorist establishments. Our strikes were measured and precise with only certain buildings being targeted. No military of civilian localities were hit. Pakistan, though, is intentionally targeting Indian civilian areas. The Indian Army has been responding proportionately. Now, a decision has been taken to strike these Pakistani artillery and mortar posts,” a senior official said.
While some have said that the Pakistani post was ‘taken out’ by an air-to-surface missile, others said it could have been an anti-tank guided missile, probably an indigenously developed Nag Mark-II third-generation fire-and-forget missile that can be launched from a BMP or armoured troop carrier. The location of the post has not been revealed by the Army though.
