The Indian Army on Monday tweeted a photograph of footprints that could be of a mythical creature named ‘Yeti’.
The existence of this creature, also called ‘Big Foot’ and ‘Abominable Snowman’, is often debated.
The Army said the footprints measured 32×15 inches (around 2.5×1.2 feet) and were spotted near the Makalu Base Camp in the Himalayas. An Indian Army mountaineering expedition team spotted it earlier this month.
The images have gone viral and have left the public bewildered. Sources in the Indian Army clarified to India Today that “the evidences have been photographed and handed over to subject matter experts,” and the “Idea is not to sit on judgement… should be addressed in a scientific way.”
