Puri: Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal on Thursday visited Jagannath Temple Puri along with her mother to seek the blessings of the Lord and his siblings.
“This is the first time I have come to Puri though my parents have visited earlier. I had a very good darshan and for that, I would like to thank our Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy who made the arrangements for a sportsperson like me,” Nehwal told media after the darshan and added that the servitors also helped her have a good darshan.
“What else would a player want other than love of people,” she said.
When asked about her future plans, she said a player keeps playing all her life and she will try to keep performing though arthritis is troubling her a bit now.
Saina said she wants to see badminton flourish in the entire country with more badminton academies set up and good coaches providing the training so that talented players come ahead and play, ANI reported.
