New Delhi: Pakistan will be able to take part in the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in India during October-November this year as its cricketers will be given visas.
Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah, son of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, said they have got “government assurances” about visas to Pakistan players.
“The visa issue of Pakistan cricket team has been sorted. However, whether the fans can travel across the border to watch matches is still not clear,” a BCCI Apex Council member told PTI.
The final of the World T20 will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad. The other venues which will stage matches are Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Dharamsala and Lucknow.
Pakistan last toured India in 2012-13, when the two teams played three ODIs and two T20 Internationals.
