Hyderabad: A 36-year-old woman from Hyderabad was found dead in Australia. Her body was reportedly found in a waste bin on the side of a road in Buckley on Saturday, news agency PTI reported.
The woman identified as Chaithanya Swetha Madhagani has reportedly been killed by her husband, who then traveled to Hyderabad and handed over their child to Chaithanya’s parents.
The woman had been living in Australia with her husband and their son.
Victoria Police, in a statement said that “Homicide squad detectives are investigating after a deceased person was located in Buckley, near Winchelsea, this afternoon.”
Officers located the deceased person on Mount Pollock Road about midday, the statement added.
Police have stated that a second crime scene has been established at a residential location on Mirka Way in Point Cook, and it is suspected to be linked to the Buckley homicide case. At this point in the investigation, it is believed that the individuals involved were known to each other, and the perpetrator may have fled abroad, the statement indicated.
Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy, who represents the deceased’s constituency, after learning about the incident, met Chaithanya parents. In response to their plea, Reddy has written to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) urging them to repatriate the victim’s body to Hyderabad.
Chaithanya parents told Reddy that their son-in-law “confessed” of having killed their daughter, the legislator added.
