Ahmedabad: Odisha FC women suffered a setback in the Hero Indian Women’s League here on Sunday.
High on confidence after a resounding 6-0 win in their campaign opener, the Odisha women lost 0-2 in the second game to Kickstart FC at Shahibaug Police Stadium.
Odisha made a strong start and earned a free-kick from a promising position after Anju was fouled by a Kickstart defender. However, N Bala Devi’s free-kick struck the wall and the danger was averted.
Kickstart took the lead in the 35th minute. Odisha women failed to level scores despite their best efforts. Kickstart doubled their advantage in the 75th minute, and held on to the 2-0 lead till the final whistle.
