Indian Women’s League: Kickstart, SSB Win Openers At Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Kickstart FC beat debutants PIFA SC 3-1 while SSB Women SC overcame a two-goal deficit to outplay Hans Women SC 6-2 in the opening fixtures of the Hero Indian Women’s League (HIWL) on Friday.

Defender Nirmal Devi scored with a 40-yard shot to put Kickstart 1-up in the 23rd minute, while forward Parameswari Irom doubled the lead 10 minutes later.

PIFA pulled one back within a minute through Nissilia, but Kaviya sealed game for Kickstart with a goal in the 59th minute.

Odisha Police and Odisha Sports will begin their campaigns on Saturday.
