Bhubaneswar: Ngangom Bala Devi, who has led the Indian team, will play for Odisha FC in the upcoming season of Hero Indian Women’s League.
Odisha FC, who launched their women’s team last July, on Friday announced the signing of the star striker on a one-year deal.
The Manipuri, who began her career at a young age in 2002 with the Manipur U-19 team, went on to win several laurels for her state and the country.
One of the best footballers India has produced, Bala Devi created history in 2020 by becoming the first Indian woman footballer to sign and play for an international club — Rangers FC, in Scottish Premier League.
In 46 international appearances for India so far, Bala Devi has scored 36 goals.
