New Delhi: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has now permitted Indians living abroad to renew their International Driving Permit (IDP) through Indian embassies in the respective countries.
A medical certificate and a valid visa are no longer mandatory for the same. This has been done as a person without visa can’t be living abroad and that if he/she has a valid driving permit, a medical certificate was already issued to him/her during the time of application.
